Learn more at www.coopersurgical.com . Work location: Trumbull, CT (on-site) Scope: Responsible for developing, coordinating, delivering, and maintaining training programs for Operations teams. Works closely with the Technical Documentation Specialist to ensure training materials, SOPs, and work instructions are accurate, current, and aligned with operational needs. Ensures all employees receive the proper job‑specific training, certifications, and competency assessments required to operate safely, effectively, and in full compliance with GMP and ISO requirements. Job Summary: The Operations Training Coordinator leads all training activities for Operations, including onboarding, upskilling, cross‑training, documentation updates, training record management, and competency verification. This role partners with Production Supervisors, Quality, the Technical Documentation Specialist, and HR to maintain an effective, audit‑ready training program that supports operational excellence and consistent employee development.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
  • Ability to learn, document, and train complex processes clearly and accurately.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, ISO, and regulated documentation practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Technical Documentation Specialist to maintain accurate, compliant training materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and record‑keeping accuracy.
  • Competency with digital learning platforms, training systems, and standard computer applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
  • Standing, walking, or training on the production floor for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Exposure to production, packing, and logistics environments.
  • May require wearing PPE such as gloves, masks, and hairnets in designated areas.
  • Requires strong communication, patience, and adaptability.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, training, quality, or operations support roles.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or training credentials preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering hands‑on job training in a regulated environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with GMP/ISO training or documentation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver onboarding training for new hires across production, packing, logistics, and related operations roles.
  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials, SOPs, work instructions, and competency checklists in collaboration with the Technical Documentation Specialist.
  • Conduct hands‑on training sessions, demonstrations, and refresher courses as needed.
  • Ensure all training activities comply with GMP, ISO, and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate, audit‑ready training records, rosters, and electronic learning system entries.
  • Partner with Production Supervisors to assess skills, identify training gaps, and implement development plans for staff.
  • Support cross‑training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate annual training curricula and ensure completion of mandatory training requirements.
  • Track and report training metrics, including completion rates, competency status, and training effectiveness.
  • Facilitate training for procedural changes, new equipment, safety updates, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Documentation Specialist to ensure timely communication and rollout of revised SOPs and controlled documents.
  • Provide coaching to trainers or designated subject‑matter experts across departments.
  • Participate in audits by providing training documentation and responding to training‑related inquiries.
  • Assist with developing standardized training frameworks and best practices across shifts and departments.
  • Communicate training schedules, progress updates, and issues to the Production Manager and other stakeholders.
  • As business needs dictate, works extended hours to support training coverage or urgent operational needs.
