About The Position

The Operations Technician III – Federal (CAD) is responsible for maintaining all geographical and program-specific databases as well as producing high-quality mapping products.

Requirements

• Position requires proficiency using GIS software such as ESRI ArcMap
• Must be able to create and modify shapefiles and KML/KMZ files
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain a clearance. Must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information (applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation)
• BS, certificate or equivalent work experience (4 years mapping or similar discipline)

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Oracle / Access databases, SpatialNet & Safe FME preferred

Responsibilities

• Updates, creates, and reviews design and as-built CAD drawings to ensure standards and accuracy are followed
• Serves as the primary point of contact for producing deliverables, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) maps, and requests for data from the Network Infrastructure Database (NID) and other mapping data sources
• Researches, assesses and collects geographic data for updating and maintaining background and base layer maps
• Produces and maintains ArcView Shapefiles, Google Earth .kml/.kmz files, and spatial database data for internal and Program Office use
