About The Position

Restek Corporation is seeking an Operations Technician. The Operations Technician I will work in the Analytical Reference Material (ARM) department. Responsibilities include weighing, mixing, ampulating, and packaging products. The role requires handling various chemicals, including regulated materials and carcinogens, while adhering to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and have basic computer skills. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is preferred. This position will be key part of a growing team in a fast-paced environment. The schedule for this position will be first shift Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the potential for overtime.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Preferably 2 years of specialized training in a science-related technology or relevant experience. Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Basic math and scientific problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of business concepts and technical details.
  • Ability to follow and give basic oral and written instructions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to train others.
  • Respirator fit test, annual medical surveillance program enrollment, DEA and ATF clearances for handling regulated material.
  • This position will require the successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy.
  • Employment with Restek will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Product Processing: Weigh, mix, ampulate, and package reference standards. Ensure inventory levels are maintained and backorders are serviced timely.
  • Chemical Handling: Manage a range of chemicals, including regulated materials and carcinogens, following strict safety procedures.
  • SOP Compliance: Follow standard operating procedures and safety codes. Consult safety officers, reference books, or MSDS when needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records and databases related to Statistical Product Control (SPC) and other quality metrics. Understand data to identify issues.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance as needed.
  • Training and Support: Provide technical training and support to others when sufficiently experienced.
  • Team Participation: Attend departmental and team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
