About The Position

Join our team as an Operations Team Leader in Friendly, WV. As a pivotal leader in production management, this role entails overseeing the coordination of production personnel, raw materials, equipment, and processes. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a rotating continuous operations cycle, ensuring the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and emergency response across all shifts. Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong personal orientation towards safety of self and others
  • Effective trouble-shooting skills.
  • Able to lead calmly and confidently during upset conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant SAP transactions.
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing orientation.
  • Ability/willingness to work a rotating 12-hour shift.
  • Fundamental respect and trust of others.
  • Clear and patient communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Lead all aspects of site EHS, with primary accountability for the safety and integrity of operations. Serve as Fire Chief or Assistant Fire Chief while on duty, leading the site Fire Brigade and responding to emergencies. Ensure compliance with OSHA and site policies, lead incident investigations, and support certifications, behavioral-based safety, and specialized EHS programs.
  • Production Leadership: Own day-to-day plant production performance, supporting operators with problem resolution, operational execution, and prioritization of maintenance and equipment activities.
  • Quality Oversight: Support operators on quality matters, including yield awareness and identification of off-spec conditions, while acting as a liaison to technical and departmental resources.
  • Cost & Operational Efficiency: Assign and execute daily manufacturing work to maintain operational integrity in a cost-effective, high-quality manner. Drive procedural efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Employee Relations & Administration: Manage hourly compensation and performance administration, including coaching and counseling. Align employee goals with business objectives while setting clear expectations for daily production performance and development.
  • Labor & Contract Administration: Administer the collective bargaining agreement, including grievance handling, disciplinary actions, arbitrations, contract negotiations and preparation, and Code of Conduct enforcement.
  • Site Leadership Partnership: Collaborate closely with site leadership and management teams to support aligned operations and overall site success.
  • Financial Accountability: Maintain strong financial acumen with responsibility for budget management and cost control within manufacturing operations.
  • Other duties as assigned
