About The Position

The Operations Support role primarily focuses on providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers. This position plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction, while also supporting other operational needs. In addition to the main responsibilities outlined below, this role may involve additional tasks or duties as assigned by management based on business needs. In addition to all duties mentioned this position primarily focuses on both internal and external customer services but may also be required to undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on your feet for the majority of your shift
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (Training will be provided)
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills are key
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Safety: Ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers at all times without exception.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls
  • Respond to pertinent incoming emails across warehouse departments: All emails need to be addressed by close of business each day.
  • Issue Management System [http://gateway.colonial.elec/TaskManager/NewIssue]: Log all issues into the Issue Management System with details. Follow up on each issue and ensure there is a resolution, report resolution to Issue manager.
  • Modify invoices based on customer service requests: Correct any customer order address discrepancies. Modify customer delivery times/dates. Same day delivery requests from sales.
  • Direct external inquiries to proper department/s
  • Sales/Accounting requests
  • Inbound Shipments: Supply trucking companies with the information pertinent with their deliveries to ensure delivery is made.
  • Returns: Communicate with the returns department pertaining to the availability of inventory for customer orders.
  • Cross Dock Orders: Coordinate with the Inventory Control, Fleet and Sales teams to ensure that the order has the correct delivery date.
  • Route delivery delay notifications: Point of contact for ensuring that any disruptions whether it's due to holidays, weather, or unexpected delays like mechanical issues are communicated across all relevant groups.
  • Support special projects or initiatives as directed by management.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including reports and documentation.
  • Participate in process improvements or other operational needs.
  • Be adaptable to taking on new tasks or responsibilities as the business evolves.
