About The Position

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing and prioritizing workshop resources, maintaining accurate documentation, and overseeing inventory of consumable items and spare parts. This role ensures equipment is ready for stock and allocation by supervising rework, inspection, and repair activities. Key responsibilities include maintaining certification and asset folders for rental tools, supervising equipment preparation for mobilization, and liaising with field personnel and third-party suppliers. The supervisor is also tasked with providing guidance, training, and mentoring to workshop technicians, maintaining quality and service standards, and implementing safety procedures such as JSA, Tool Box Talks, and Permit to Work. Additionally, the role involves following maintenance procedures, completing training plans, supervising complex workshop procedures (SITs, FATs), performing competency assessments, managing employee performance, and implementing process improvements. Compliance with company policies, quality manuals, and HSE procedures is essential, along with performing other assigned work-related tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of eight years of oilfield service experience, with expertise in downhole tool operations.
  • Experience with completions, liner hangers, or workover tools in a service company.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical documentation.
  • Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate.
  • Valid H2S Training certificate.
  • Valid First Aid / CPR certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years of related workshop experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively utilize dedicated resources and the ability to plan, control, and take responsibility for own work.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to discern key information and required actions from complex problems.
  • Ability to utilize software associated with supporting the job role.
  • Availability on a 24-hour call basis as needed.
  • Mechanical ability necessary to perform equipment job functions.

  • Knowledge of downhole equipment across multiple product lines, including liners, packers, frac plugs, toe valves, and frac sleeves.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize workshop resources according to current workload and upcoming job requirements.
  • Ensure workshop documentation is maintained in accordance with iQS, FSM, and other relevant databases.
  • Monitor and maintain stocks of consumable items and spare parts in conjunction with the Inventory/Asset Manager.
  • Ensure rework, inspection, and repair work is carried out to have equipment readily available for stock and allocation to specific jobs.
  • Maintain and update certification and asset folders for rental tools.
  • Supervise the preparation of rental, sales, and third-party equipment prior to mobilization to and from location.
  • Liaise with field personnel and third-party suppliers to ensure job requirements are communicated throughout the planning and preparation process.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, training, and mentoring to workshop technicians as required.
  • Maintain quality, cost, and service standards by supervising employees.
  • Perform/assign JSA (Job Safety Analysis), Tool Box Talks, and Permit to Work as required.
  • Follow maintenance and process procedures for applicable products and equipment and complete all relevant documentation.
  • Successfully complete training plans and competency standards as set out in the position within company guidelines.
  • Supervise complex workshop procedures such as SITs (System Integrity Tests) and FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) as required.
  • Implement competency standards for workshop personnel and perform competency assessments.
  • Assign goals and objectives, perform performance appraisals, and participate in the selection and interview process for workshop candidates.
  • Implement improvements for workshop processes and procedures related to performance enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned and comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
