About The Position

D237 Temporary Services Operations Supervisor - 2nd Shift The candidate must be able to manage shift operations of the temporary services group. Provide direction and technical assistance to hourly employees. Manage crew safety, quality, cost and schedule performance as well as promoting and implementing process improvements. Ensure employees have adequate training to perform their job assignments and ensure all procedures/documents are adhered to. Responsibilities will include: Oversee D237 Temporary Electrical, ECC, Preheat, and Tool Crib employees. Supply the team with required equipment, tools, parts and materials to maintain a smooth workflow Interface on the deck plate with the customer, operations management, ships management and engineering groups. Have a general understanding of the electrical infrastructure and layout of the shipyard and processes in the tool cribs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years operations trade or military experience in welding trade, electrical, mechanical, pipefitting, shipfitting, sheetmetal or ship’s management
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
  • A general understanding of electrical theory.
  • A general understanding of the welding processes used at EB
  • A general understanding of the requirements for Temporary Ventilation at EB

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of supervisor experience
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Vocational/College/Technical school or apprenticeship graduate
  • ATA or other time keeping tracking experience
  • M Class, Journeyman CT or Master trade license
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Prior additional experience in nuclear submarine manufacturing or defense-related industries
