Operations Supervisor - JLL What this job involves - The Operations Supervisor will supervises team members in responding to Utilities general maintenance problems in multiple areas such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, facilities and BAS systems. Organizes, directs and controls the daily operations of various facilities maintenance activities and projects. Ensures that work activities and/or projects are completed on time and within budget, where applicable. Assigns duties and follow-ups to inspect quality of work including the proper use of procedures and materials and adherence to a variety of local building codes and other standards. Ensures that employees work in a safe and efficient manner. Routinely provides advice and assistance in completing the most difficult assignments. Interacts regularly with other Supervisors and skilled trade’s employees, contractors, and members of hospital administration and management. What your day-to-day will look like: Collaborate with managers, planners, and scheduling teams to ensure all work generated through the CMMS is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards that meet or exceed customer expectations Monitor and achieve company KPIs including safe work practices, work order closure rates, training compliance, and performance management objectives across your team Develop strong relationships with JLL and client stakeholders, learning organizational cultures and protocols to make informed decisions and serve as a liaison between operations teams and support business units Establish project execution strategies, take ownership of deliverables, and provide leadership through abstract thinking, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills Manage staffing requirements including work schedules, assignments, vacation coverage for other supervisors, and the onboarding process for new hires Oversee and coordinate the training program for your business unit in collaboration with JLL's national training initiatives while ensuring team members complete formal goals and performance reviews on schedule Conduct regular field checks and oversight activities, performing inspections to review work progress, results, and documentation quality Orient, train, and develop employees by establishing clear standards and objectives, evaluating performance, and maintaining confidential personnel information Coordinate with customer personnel to communicate project details including purpose, duration, potential disruptions, and other relevant conditions that may impact operations Plan and document material and manpower needs while developing accurate cost estimates for corrective work orders, preventative maintenance activities, and construction projects

Requirements

  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience in an operational or facilities environment
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and building management system interfaces
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members at all levels
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between multiple properties as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Building Operator Certification (BOC), or System Maintenance Administrator (SMA)
  • Experience with building automation systems and energy management platforms
  • Background in commercial real estate, corporate campuses, or large-scale facility operations
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA compliance requirements, and sustainability best practices

Responsibilities
