About The Position

As an Operations Supervisor, you will leverage your leadership skills to coordinate and direct the overall delivery of quality service to maximize branch productivity. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will provide the supervision needed to ensure safety, branch metric performance, and Rental Flow efficiency, while contributing world-class sales and customer service support. This role involves supporting the Branch Manager in achieving financial objectives and ensuring compliance with company policies. You will drive branch metrics by monitoring scorecard items, identifying areas for improvement, and providing coaching to staff. The position also requires supporting all aspects of sales and customer service to ensure operational excellence, including processing rental quotations, reservations, and contracts. You will maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring staff training and compliance with the Rental Flow Process, and by monitoring and controlling costs. Day-to-day operational activities, such as opening and closing, cash drawer reconciliation, and bank deposits, may also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will motivate, coach, and train personnel, and promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership and accountability.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 3+ years of sales and operational experience
  • 2+ years supervision and leadership experience
  • Basic knowledge of the construction rental equipment industry or related
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable record
  • This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Support Branch Manager in implementing actions to achieve financial objectives
  • Assist the Branch Manager in ensuring compliance with all company policies
  • Drive branch metrics by monitoring scorecard items, determining root causes and opportunities for improvement and providing coaching and feedback to staff, making recommendations for corrective actions
  • Support all aspects of sales and customer service to ensure world class service and operational excellence, including processing rental quotations, reservations and contracts in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring that staff is trained and compliant with the Rental Flow Process; drive profitability by monitoring and controlling costs
  • May be responsible for day-to-day operational activities including opening and closing, cash drawer reconciliation and bank deposit, and others
  • Motivate, coach and train personnel
  • Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication
  • Other duties assigned as needed
