Requirements

  • Be able to lead by examples, setting expectations, following up and identifying barriers and putting corrective actions in place and hold your people accountable
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or processing industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or other 4-year degree
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Influential and flexible leadership with experience encouraging and championing a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to lead the team and develop the team
  • Building of culture of ownership, engagement, and empowerment
  • Must be willing and able to take on ownership of the production center and the team
  • Should be forward-thinking regarding continuous improvement plans (Hoshin)
  • Be able to encourage and enable leadership development among their team
  • Sound understanding/experience of project management working to cost and schedule metrics
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
  • A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience with responsibility for labor issues within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ingot Casting and Melting operations
  • Ensuring Environmental, Health, and Safety results
  • Productivity improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity.
  • Customer delivery through implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, including Daily Management, TPM, 5S, etc.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems in order to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity.
