About The Position

We are looking for a talented Operations Superintendent (2 nd Shift) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Seymour, IN. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: + Drive Operational Excellence You'll lead efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across shifts or departments, using data-driven metrics and continuous improvement strategies. + Foster a Culture of Accountability By setting clear expectations and monitoring performance, you'll create a results-oriented environment where teams are empowered to meet and exceed goals. + Enhance Team Development You'll coach and mentor staff, helping them grow through targeted training, performance feedback, and career planning-building a stronger, more capable workforce. + Lead Strategic Planning Your leadership in developing annual operating plans and forecasts will ensure alignment with business objectives and operational readiness. + Strengthen Communication Across Stakeholders You'll serve as a key liaison between shop floor teams, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the production process. + Improve Multi-Shift Coordination Managing multiple shifts effectively will help maintain consistent output, reduce downtime, and ensure smooth transitions across production cycles. + Champion Safety and Quality Standards You'll reinforce a safety-first mindset and quality-focused culture, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks in daily operations. + Identify and Implement Process Improvements Through hands-on leadership and collaboration, you'll uncover inefficiencies and lead initiatives that enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Requirements

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial, leadership, and budgetary experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; 5+ years is preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience managing production teams or exempt employees is strongly desired.

Benefits

  • This position includes an additional 8% shift differential to reflect the responsibilities and schedule associated with second-shift operations.
