About The Position

Welcome to Solid State Studios. We’re an in-house studio, dedicated to developing the best AAA mobile games in the world. You will work closely with the team and play a key role in facilitating processes to provide the operations team and the larger studio team with what they need to excel. As the Operations Specialist at Solid State Studios, you will lead multiple projects across our studio as well as support our initiatives throughout the Operations Team. This role is based in our Santa Monica, CA office and follows an onsite work schedule of four days per week. Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs. You will be responsible for coordinating complex business tasks and have a high level of responsibility in determining outcomes against needed deadlines. The operations role captures facilities, team health, central services, and helps with a range of process improvements, including documentation efforts. This work helps to enable mobile development, and general sharing and improvement of best practices across the mobile team and wider Activision. You will work to ensure our standardized practices are well developed and distributed to our teams, and often be brought in on projects to address pain points that develop as we grow and scale. You will ensure consistent knowledge-sharing, learning, documentation, as well as improving tools and processes as necessary for all teams on the project to excel.

Requirements

  • A passion for process, excellence and achievement
  • 3+ yrs relevant experience managing complex projects and proven track record of success
  • Can influence without direct leadership, working across and managing efforts through different teams
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Punctual and dependable – you are on time, your work is reliable, you know how to commit to work and get it done.
  • Ability to drive results and cultivate a standard of excellence within the operations team
  • Strong critical-thinking, organization, time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and people alignment skills
  • Experience with project planning and change management
  • Breadth of experience with gaming functions: production, marketing, design
  • Ability to multitask under complex deadlines
  • Work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent shift in focus
  • Experience in console/PC and mobile game development and marketing

Responsibilities

  • Be the owner and the guide of tasks that evolve from start to finish
  • Proactively and consistently evaluate operational and development processes and efficiencies across the project, including augmenting and creating governance processes where necessary
  • Manage on-site resources including helping on-site team members
  • Optimize hiring capabilities and team development (with our support teams)
  • Review and update project contracts, help with work to reconcile forecasts, and provide overall project financial insights that meet outlined business targets
  • Work with project leads and Operations Director to evaluate plans and identify upcoming conflicts or resource constraints to meet project goals
  • Coordinate operational planning with central Studio Ops team, including governance schedules, headcount planning and financial planning
  • Improve existing (and develop new) processes for onboarding, purchasing, and contractual planning across studios engaged in co-developing critical titles
  • Clearly document processes and projects – show moving parts against the wider state of being done and needed project scope
  • Respond to studio shift and change management requests that enable us to meet new directions of business or continue to develop or scale against current studio priorities
