About The Position

The In-Plant Operations Specialist will actively engage with site leaders and field employees to ensure that all operations under his or her direction are striving to achieve excellent performance in the areas of safety, environmental and overall job quality. Duties also include training and development, performance management, safety, customer relations, problem solving, work coverage, emergency response, incident investigation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operation or supervision roles, demonstrating a solid understanding of operational processes and leadership skills.
  • Possession of a valid and current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) to comply with security regulations.
  • Knowledge of business management procedures, workflow optimization, and organizational structures to effectively assist operations and drive performance.
  • Experience in incident investigation, including root cause analysis and report preparation, to ensure thorough handling of operational incidents and implementation of corrective actions.
  • A strong work history supported by positive employer references, indicating reliability, competence, and professionalism in previous roles.
  • Ability to speak, write, read fluent English and have good vision.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various conditions for extended periods.
  • Successfully pass a required medical examination.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly.
  • Frequently use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally lift, carry, grip, hold, and/or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employees to ensure they are properly trained, evaluated, coached, and provide feedback to exceed expectations.
  • Provide leadership and support to plant site leaders and supervisors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of field employees, ensuring the hiring of qualified individuals who align with Loadstar's values and objectives.
  • Develop leadership skills within each shift lead or future leaders by evaluating measurable targets and providing guidance and resources for their growth.
  • Ensure that safety, environmental, and performance issues are effectively communicated to supervisors and employees, monitored, and achieved.
  • Work with supervisors to identify and develop high-potential employees as future leaders within the organization.
  • Serve as a role model in upholding Loadstar's culture, values, and standards of excellence.
  • Conduct job observations and coaching sessions for in-plant employees, providing guidance on best practices and performance improvement.
  • Assist with development plans for workers and identify individuals with potential for leadership roles in the future.
  • Assist supervisors in preparing for and delivering safety meetings, ensuring compliance with required training and regulations.
  • Provide assistance for incident response, investigations, preparing reports, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Share information with peers and remain open to feedback to continuously develop and implement best practices for Loadstar's operations.
