About The Position

Blair Logistics, a PS Logistics Company, is a rapidly growing trucking company founded in 2009, specializing in flatbed and conestoga trailer transportation with over 600 owner operators and 750+ trailers. The company is committed to excellence, hiring experienced professionals, and partnering with top universities to stay at the cutting edge of transportation, while also prioritizing driver satisfaction and support. The Operations Specialist role is crucial for ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations. This position involves overseeing daily duties, optimizing processes, and ensuring deliverables are met. Specifically, the role will be based at the Steelfab Charlotte NC office, coordinating shipments and deliveries with Steelfab and working with Blair and P&S drivers to meet shipping needs. Additionally, the specialist will assist with planning and administrative duties for the Kenly NC load planners. While primarily an office job and not physically demanding, occasional visits to the yard will be required to assist drivers with spotting trailers and delivering paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Order Entry in LME
  • Handling permitting
  • Maintaining social media postings for the company
  • Managing day-to-day operations
  • Optimizing operational processes and procedures for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards
  • Assisting with the implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Identifying ways to improve customer experiences
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels
  • Overseeing the operations team and assigning tasks
  • Training new employees and ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed
  • Interacting with customers and suppliers, answering questions, and resolving issues
  • Tracking and reporting on operational performance
  • Maintaining policy and procedure documents
  • Coordinating shipments and deliveries with Steelfab
  • Working alongside Blair and P&S drivers to accommodate Steelfab's shipping needs
  • Coordinating planning and administrative duties for the Kenly NC load planners
  • Going on the yard occasionally throughout the day to help drivers spot trailers and deliver paperwork
