About The Position

Job Summary Under limited supervision, reviews claims and discharge documents/reports per department procedures and regulatory requirements. In addition, this position performs quality assurance duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Basic proficiency in mathematical skills and concepts
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically with Word and Excel applications

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience drafting professional written communication and providing verbal communications to internal and external clients
  • 1 year of working in the student loan industry
  • Working knowledge of student loan industry regulations

Responsibilities

  • Processes discharge request/reports.
  • Reviews pending queue to release questionable claims for timely payment.
  • Reviews supplemental, partial and Teacher Loan Forgiveness claims.
  • Performs timely audits of specialists and associates’ tasks.
  • Updates loan information on internal claims system.
  • Processes claim reports.
  • Performs post claim sampling review.
  • Researches and resolves problems with claim records.
  • Assists the lead and manager with training of new staff and testing of system enhancements as needed.
  • Actively participates in projects assigned to ECMC from the Department of Education.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
