About The Position

About the Team DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We explore robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics in the long term. If you have a passion for applying robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you! About the Role As a member of the Mapping Operations team, you will own and execute map validation operations to support new geographic expansions and maintain high-quality maps across existing markets. This role is hands-on and operationally rigorous, focused on planning, coordinating, and delivering large-scale map validation work through field operations partners, while continuously improving coverage, accuracy, and system robustness.

Requirements

  • You bring strong operations ownership, with experience managing complex workflows across multiple stakeholders without formal people management.
  • You are highly structured and detail-oriented, able to translate ambiguous mapping or geo problems into clear execution plans.
  • You have a track record of hitting operational targets, especially in metrics-driven environments (e.g., coverage, throughput, quality).
  • You’re comfortable working with field or distributed operations teams, coordinating work and driving outcomes through influence and clarity.
  • You proactively surface gaps, edge cases, and failure modes, and work cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • You thrive in fast-moving, scaling environments where new geos, tools, and scenarios are constantly being introduced.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with operational tools and platforms (Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, Linux, GitHub, or equivalents).

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end map validation execution for new geo launches and ongoing map maintenance, from planning through delivery.
  • Design detailed operational plans, including scope definition, prioritization, timelines, and validation-mile targets.
  • Assign and manage work across field operations teams, ensuring efficient utilization and on-time completion without direct people management.
  • Train and enable field operators on tools, processes, quality expectations, and evolving validation scenarios.
  • Track performance against key metrics, especially map validation miles, coverage, quality, and throughput.
  • Identify new mapping and validation scenarios arising from real-world complexity and scale, and help operationalize solutions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Mapping, and QA teams to triage issues, resolve bugs, and close feedback loops.
  • Continuously improve processes by refining workflows, tooling usage, and operational playbooks as the mapping ecosystem evolves.

Benefits

  • comprehensive benefits and perks including premium healthcare, wellness expense reimbursement, paid parental leave and more
