About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs, Mansfield Works operation has an immediate opening for a Operations Shift Manager. The Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising and directing the activities of operating employees in the department. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, organized, willing to work a rotating schedule, work weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment. Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. The Company is vertically integrated from mined raw materials, direct reduced iron, and ferrous scrap to primary steelmaking and downstream finishing, stamping, tooling, and tubing. Requirements

  • 2-5 years' prior supervisory experience of industrial/manufacturing experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Available to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a multi-level organization that operates 24/7, and work extended hours as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of melting, casting, or rolling steel or other metals
  • Experience in a union environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain supervisory control over work activities of the crew
  • Schedule equipment and manpower
  • Conduct daily/monthly safety meetings
  • Assist in the development, review, and update of JSHA's (Job Safety and Health Analysis) to eliminate safety hazards
  • Other duties as assigned
