About The Position

Basic FunctionHF Sinclair located in Artesia, NM is seeking an Operations Relief. The Operations Relief is an entry-level position for all classifications (operations, lab, blending or maintenance) within the refinery. Progress to other positions are dependent on seniority and qualifications if applicable.Job Duties Assists with visual tank gauging to verify automatic systems Has a safety mindset and maintains clarity and discipline in their duties. Performs general plant cleaning Assists with maintenance tasks Assists with opening and closing of valves for production Loads and unloads trucks and railcars Assists with paperwork involving basic math skills Ensure safety procedures are followed. Recognize hazards and takes action to eliminate/mitigate, risks and Stop Work if necessary. Participate in shift turnovers. Behave in a manner that promotes teamwork. Demonstrate a desire for continuous learning. Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion. Hours of Work: This position requires rotating shift work 24/7 including weekend and holidays; as well as, overtime. A 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift schedule is standard in Operations.

Requirements

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, and computer skills, mechanically inclined
Entry knowledge, understanding and ability to comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures, including use of tools (hand tools and power tools) and other equipment such as shovels and rakes and operation(s) of fork lift, tractor, or man-lift.
Required to complete all required certifications and training for job level and showing competency in basic tasks under direct supervision while completing classroom and CBT training and expectations.
Basic reading and writing skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
Individual must be able to climb to heights more than 150 and work in close confined spaces.
Must be able to wear respiratory protection equipment and have minimal and manicured facial hair.
Beards are prohibited for this position.
A comprehensive physical examination must be satisfactorily completed.
