Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We are currently seeking a seasoned professional for our Operation Quality Associate Director position. The selected candidate will work in Andover, Massachusetts, supporting the Sensors portfolio. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement. This is an onsite only position in Andover, Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of twelve (12) years of Quality or Engineering Experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing a strong working relationship with local DMCA and MDA representatives, or equivalent, through open, honest, and frequent communication concerning pertinent issues and activities within the factories.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex situations and developing executable plans and guide/coach the team through resolution.
  • Expertise to articulate complex issues into succinct, cohesive summaries and presentations to support executive briefings.
  • Experience driving performance of key production metrics (CoPQ, FPY, DPU, Escapes and Off router etc) against established goals, including ensuring timely root cause corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Capability to communicate critical factory issues with cross functional teams and senior management utilizing facts and data and providing solutions.
  • Provide mentoring, and recognition to personnel based upon achieving results.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Master’s or Advanced Degree preferred.
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Experience leading geographically diverse factories and teams.
  • Experience in other functional areas such as engineering, supplier engineering, or program management.
  • Working experience in solving both business and technical problems.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of contract flow and compliance.
  • Works well with cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and promote a culture of compliance with policies and procedures, QMS, regulatory and customer requirements across our factories.
  • Establish effective relationships with internal and external customers with the ability to manage and influence across multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Adapt the structure and focus of the organization to align with new or changing business goals and direction in pursuit of RTX's CORE strategies and culture.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in driving resolution of major program interruptions which impact the factories’ ability to achieve cost, quality, and/or schedule commitments.
  • Identify and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives for processes and command media using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills.
  • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to establish and implement mid- and long-term operating strategies that deliver high impact business results.
  • Focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program and factory teams.
  • Recruit, mentor and coach team to develop a capable, competent, and flexible quality engineering organization in support of the factory needs.
  • Responsible for effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Review and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
