About The Position

The Operations Project Engineer, NPI will be responsible for successful product introduction by project managing the Operations activities cross a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Manufacturing Engineers, Planners, Buyers, Production Staff, Quality and EH&S - providing leadership and technical/project guidance for OCT products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related)
  • 5+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or process development managing complex projects in a manufacturing operations environment
  • Proven experience leading new product introduction (NPI) through production ramp (not solely sustaining engineering)
  • Experience in precision manufacturing environments (medical device, aerospace, electronics, or advanced materials)
  • Experience presenting to executive and or senior leadership
  • Must have a well-rounded project management background with experience in a DoD or Space environment
  • Strong knowledge of current and advanced Manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience

  • PMP Certification is an asset
  • Lean Greenbelt or Six Sigma certified is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI) from planning through production ramp, ensuring timely execution and adherence to schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including schedules, milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Drive manufacturing readiness by leading pilot builds, process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and operational readiness reviews in compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality systems.
  • Own end-to-end manufacturing process development, documentation, and production transfer, including process flows, work instructions, routings, BOMs, tooling, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Design, Quality, Operations) to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), providing early manufacturing input.
  • Serve as liaison between program management, engineering, and operations teams to address technical challenges, communicate risks, and present stage gate reviews and project estimations.
  • Define and track product targets using DFx toolsets, resolve manufacturing issues during ramp-up, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and lead operator training strategies to ensure production readiness for new products.
