About The Position

This open state advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in Policy Management. The mission of the Policy Management Department in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to develop, review, and maintain the Department's policies and procedures to ensure they are clear, consistent, and in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess at least one (1) year experience processing forms.
  • Must possess at least one (1) year experience working with databases.
  • Must be currently employed with the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor the Department’s form and policy development process to ensure compliance with all applicable rules, statutes, and standards, recommending form development as needed.
  • Develop and maintain the Forms Control Catalog, disseminate forms, coordinate with print shops and automation personnel, and prepare "Change Documents" for new organizational processes.
  • Independently review and analyze changes to procedures, ensuring compliance with all rules and standards, resolving conflicts, and revising documents for proper formatting and grammar.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, providing consultation and assistance to resolve administrative and operational issues, and assist in formulating policies for bargaining unit employees.
  • Maintain technical expertise to ensure database functionality, prepare responses to form-related inquiries, and maintain an up-to-date library of Policy and Procedure Directives.
