About The Position

Brazosport Plumbing & Heating (BPH) is a leading provider of commercial, industrial, and residential plumbing services in the Brazoria County area. Our success depends on strong leadership, disciplined execution, and accountability across sales, service, and field operations. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sales and service operations of the company. This role provides leadership to sales, service, and operational teams, ensures financial and operational performance targets are met, and drives continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, safety, and profitability. The Operations Manager reports directly to ownership and is accountable for day-to-day operations, revenue growth, cost control, workforce performance, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of leadership or management experience in plumbing, mechanical services, construction, or a related industry.
  • Proven experience overseeing sales and service operations.
  • Strong understanding of operational workflows, scheduling, and field service delivery.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, margins, and performance metrics.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical contracting industry.
  • Knowledge of Texas plumbing regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with estimating, job costing, and service management systems.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience leading growth-oriented teams in a service-based business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for sales, service, and operational teams.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability across departments in concert with ownership and the leadership team.
  • Ensure alignment between sales commitments and service delivery capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Oversee sales operations, including estimating, proposals, pricing, and customer relationships.
  • Drive revenue growth through new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Monitor sales pipeline, close rates, and customer retention metrics.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to improve effectiveness, forecasting, and margin performance.
  • Oversee scheduling, dispatching, and execution of service and project work.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and field personnel to resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, and operational costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, gross margin, productivity, and rework.
  • Review operational reports and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support billing, collections, and job costing processes in coordination with accounting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Address escalated customer concerns and ensure timely resolution.
  • Represent the company professionally in the community and marketplace.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff in sales, service, and operations.
  • Enforce company policies, safety rules, and performance standards consistently.
  • Support employee development, succession planning, and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure proper use and care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Oversee vehicle inspection, maintenance, and compliance processes.
  • Address safety concerns related to equipment and fleet operations.
