Operations Manager Job Description Department: Field Operations Job Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Salary-Exempt Reports To: Regional Director of Operations Location: PA/OH/WV Amount of Travel Required: 50% Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; On Call availability required. Positions Supervised: Fleet Managers. AIP Level: 5 POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Manager, Evolution Well Services (EVO), is responsible for the overall leadership and operational excellence of assigned fleets. This role oversees comprehensive fleet operations—including asset utilization, maintenance, dispatch, and lifecycle cost management—while ensuring safety, compliance, and alignment with company and client expectations. The Operations Manager partners across functions (Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Data Technology) to manage assets, control costs, and drive continuous improvements in fleet performance, automation, and digital integration. They are accountable for budget planning, personnel leadership, and cultivating a culture of safety, accountability, and service quality. Acting as a leader and ambassador of EVO culture, the Operations Manager provides direction and mentorship to Fleet Managers and field personnel, engages with customers to support operational goals, and ensures all fleet activities operate to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and integrity.

  • Fleet Operations Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of assigned EVO fleets, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • Asset Management: Monitor and optimize repair and maintenance (R&M) costs, manage capital expenditures (CAPEX), and control cost of goods sold (COGS). Partner with Procurement to streamline and optimize the parts supply chain, maintain critical spare inventory, and ensure accountability for transfers and work orders.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety by actively engaging with employees and fostering open communication aligned with core values. Participate in company safety initiatives, adhering to policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of all employees and operational excellence. Enforce safety procedures for fleet operations, prepare and maintain accurate records on unit service work, and ensure compliance with company and customer expectations.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with Accounting and Finance to project and maintain annual fleet budgets for R&M, CAPEX, and COGS. Communicate goals and align with executive objectives to support financial planning and operational strategies.
  • Personnel Management: Supervise Fleet Managers; mentor and monitor field personnel performance and progression. Hold personnel accountable for maintaining a culture of safety and service quality. Create long-term and short-term goals for the fleets, set milestones and timelines, and manage projects assigned to the fleets.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Communication: Communicate directly with customers to ensure needs are met, provide instructions on proper procedures, and ensure alignment with EVO’s digital and operational goals. Partner with Operations, Power Generation, and Asset Integrity to plan job logistics; collaborate with the Data Technology Team to meet digital goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement automation solutions to enhance control system capabilities and optimize vehicle management processes. Analyze system behavior, prepare reports/documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Proficiency in spoken English language.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
  • Daily in-person, predictable attendance.
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree OR 7–10 years of supervisory experience in hydraulic fracturing.

  • Ability to organize, lead projects to completion, and build strong relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to make critical decisions and manage stress.

  • Preferred: Previous well control experience; High proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital platforms (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps).
