About The Position

NatureBridge provides best-in-class environmental science education experiences for more than 30,000 students and their teachers every year in the world’s best classrooms: our National Parks. Our mission is to connect young people to the science and wonder of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of the planet. Through our programs, students explore the outdoors, connect with their peers, discover themselves and develop a lasting relationship with science and the environment around them. The Operations Manager is responsible for all pre-trip communications with our customers, primarily school groups. They accurately and efficiently manage pre-trip paperwork collection, communicate program logistics, and coordinate with other campus departments including Education, Facilities and Food Service to ensure a seamless customer experience. This is a full-time exempt position. This position takes place at our campus in Yosemite National Park (El Portal, CA), and cannot be performed remotely.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant Operations and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience
  • Excellent communicator with a strong customer service orientation
  • Extremely detail oriented with organizational, task, and time management skills
  • Able to follow, implement, and model effective risk management practices
  • Demonstrated office experience, managing and communicating information quickly and accurately
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexibility and enthusiastic attitude

Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with Group Coordinators about pre-trip paperwork requirements and program logistics.
  • Conduct weekly informational phone calls with Group Coordinators.
  • Track and send emails to over 200 school groups a year.
  • Train new Group Coordinators on how to prepare their chaperones for a NatureBridge experience.
  • Accommodate special circumstances for individuals and/or groups, including dietary restrictions and medical limitations.
  • Participate in monthly cross-departmental meetings
  • Lead innovation and maintenance of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Manage online registration, Salesforce portals, and the Program Information drive.
  • Prepare weekly Site Manager, Program, and Food Service Notes.
  • Collaborate with other NatureBridge campuses to revise paperwork and operational systems.
  • Update and steward the NatureBridge Yosemite webpage.
  • Address risk management concerns with clients/vendors and coordinates necessary modifications with associated staff.
  • Work closely with Campus and National Director of Risk Management.
  • Rotating Manager On Call Duties.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Occasional weekend and night work.
