About The Position

We are now seeking talented individuals to join our team for the following role: TITLE: Operations Manager REPORTS TO: General Manager BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for efficiently managing plant manufacturing operations including but not limited to; injection molding, blowmolding, compression molding, and rPET manufacturing. Must play an active role in promoting a safe and engaging work environment within the plant.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of leadership experience in bottle, preform or plastics manufacturing (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, management, manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading production or maintenance teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of operating budgets and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate plant operations through Team Leaders. Oversee safety, production quantity and quality, operating efficiencies, scrap, team training, and proper care and use of production equipment and plant facilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to salaried and hourly personnel to develop and maintain high performance work teams. Support and monitor the development of Team Leaders. Participate in strategic execution meetings.
  • Participate in the development of the annual capital and expense budgets for the plant. Assist General Manager in managing capital budgets, scrap, production, month-end closings, hiring/staffing, and operate all departments within budget limits. Manage all assigned capital and expense budgets to meet company goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to salary and hourly personnel to assure continuous improvement in all aspects of manufacturing process. Attend employee meetings as requested and follow up with any necessary action.
  • Assure compliance with all Company policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures. Monitor and participate, as needed, in disciplinary action and employee performance reviews.
  • Attend Partnership meetings with customers on a quarterly basis, or as requested. Fill in for the General Manager as needed.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving any quality, packaging, or administrative problems.
  • Interact with other department managers in the plant to promote continuous improvement and resolve operational issues. Maintain a plant wide focus on safety and operational excellence, including initiating and coordinating projects that improve the production process.
  • Uphold a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assure that all areas and supplies inside and outside the production area are maintained properly to prevent any foreign ingredient contamination of the product.
  • Provide direction for the shipping department or the Shipping and Materials Team Leader, as requested, on issues that arise on a day-to-day basis.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager. Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.
