About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations while providing strong leadership to operations personnel. Core priorities include maintaining peak boiler and turbine performance, enforcing environmental and safety standards, optimizing daily operational workflow, and driving continuous improvement through oversight, auditing, and technical training.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Engineering. Plant operations supervisory/managerial experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience, including power plant operations or high-pressure boiler experience, with a sound understanding of power plant operations
  • Materials processing experience (conveyors, cranes, hoppers, etc.)
  • New Jersey Boilers license and the ASME, QRO/CFO Certification are desirable, or must be able to qualify for this certification (or any other required certification) within six (6) months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years of experience in a supervisory or managerial level role in an industrial or power-generating facility
  • Experience in a specialty chemical plant, an environment with significant material handling, or a coal-fired power plant is highly preferred
  • Maintenance experience with outages, rotating and electrical generation equipment (turbine, generator, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver strong environmental, health, and safety leadership to ensure zero accidents, zero harm, and full compliance with all permit requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to operations personnel to meet business and operational objectives.
  • Guide and oversee boiler and turbine performance to maintain maximum efficiency.
  • Coordinate daily operational activities across departments to ensure organized, efficient execution of work.
  • Conduct and supervise operational studies to improve plant equipment and processes; update plant manuals and procedures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational procedures through regular auditing.
  • Maintain plant readiness for unusual situations and ensure safe, reliable day‑to-day operations.
  • Inspect boilers and machinery to meet performance targets; manage established technical training programs and develop new training as necessary.
  • Prepare, oversee, and present technical reports as required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of operations areas to support a safe working environment.
