About The Position

The Operations Manager/Director carries ultimate responsibility for Branch sales, operations, administration, and profitability. This leader ensures overall customer service satisfaction while maximizing operational efficiency, safety, and employee performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in management or marketing with a minimum of 7 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing leadership.
  • Experience should include sales, management and operations.
  • Strong sales, organizational and communication (verbal & written) skills
  • Commitment to Customer Service and improving the quality of the sale to the customer
  • Experience in developing sales plans, budgets and business plans
  • Excellent leadership, management, math and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Steel Service Center experience highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures customer service satisfaction while improving the quality of the sale.
  • Provides a safe and healthy working environment, as well as the tools and equipment necessary to service customers effectively.
  • Leads sales staff to maximize sales volume and develops budgets to ensure branch profitability.
  • Supervises Supervisors, Sales and Administrative Staff
  • Manages warehouse and office operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to company performance standards.
  • Manages and improves daily business processes (sales, operations, and administrative) through analysis and collaboration.
  • Educates, trains, and develops Branch staff to ensure safety, operational efficiencies, and employee performance & growth.
  • Represents the Company professionally to the market area.
  • Partners effectively with support functions (IT, HR, Purchasing, Sales, Credit, and Accounting) to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as related or assigned to benefit the Company (To include driving and travel).
  • Good attendance is an essential function of this job.
