About The Position

A role in Distribution and Receive Centers is on the front lines of getting product to guests as fast as possible, which is a critical differentiator and essential function within Logistics. This involves focusing on regional or upstream distribution centers, target.com fulfillment centers, or import warehouses, impacting thousands of team members and guests worldwide. The work spans Distribution Center Operations, Quality Management, and Distribution Center Productivity, constantly analyzing and recalibrating support for people, process, and technology investments. An Operations Manager influences with a focus on safety, leadership, excellence, self-motivation, problem-solving, and teamwork. This role involves fostering a “safety first” culture, establishing engaging and inclusive leadership, creating a positive work environment through feedback, ensuring urgent execution of operational plans, achieving performance and budget goals, and coordinating teams across functions. The manager will have autonomy to innovate with new approaches to process and method for efficiency and future process flow optimization, find root causes to problems, and help teams meet business goals.

Requirements

Four-year degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated leadership ability, with the ability to engage and motivate others
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Good reasoning, conflict-management, and analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including the mezzanine platforms
Able to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to perform updates and operate systems and other programs within the Distribution Center, for example, ability to traverse conveyor crossovers
