Location : this is an onsite position in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. What this job involves: The Operations Manager orchestrates the day-to-day facilities operations across an institutional campus, ensuring all building systems, services, and vendor relationships function seamlessly. This hands-on leadership position serves as the operational backbone of the facilities team, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans while maintaining operational excellence. You'll coordinate multiple service providers, manage work order systems, and ensure optimal building performance while maintaining a safe and functional environment. This role combines technical facilities knowledge with strong organizational skills to keep complex operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • BS degree and minimum 5 years as a facilities manager in a facility comparable in size and scope, or minimum 7 years of direct experience in facilities management with a min. 5 years as a facilities manager in a facility comparable in size and scope.
  • Must possess current certification in Facility Management and/or Program/Project Management from an industry-recognized institution or accredited school/program.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years of experience with automated facility maintenance management system.
  • Experience must include managing a complex 24/7 operation, encompassing multiple trades and utilities with a diverse workforce.
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily facilities operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Manage work order systems and prioritize maintenance requests, coordinating response times and ensuring timely resolution of facilities issues
  • Supervise vendor relationships and service contracts, monitoring performance quality, managing schedules, and conducting regular vendor evaluations
  • Conduct facility inspections and walkthroughs to identify potential issues, ensure cleanliness standards, and verify maintenance completion
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with equipment service requirements
  • Respond to emergency situations and after-hours issues, implementing contingency plans and mobilizing resources as needed
  • Track operational metrics and prepare performance reports, identifying trends and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Acts as CM during absences. Fully authorized to make contract decisions.
