About The Position

At Source Logistics, we specialize in offering customized logistics and supply chain solutions in US markets, including Full Service Warehousing, Order Processing, E-commerce Fulfillment, Marketing Fulfillment, Complete Transportation Solutions, and Information/Data Supply Chain Services. We support a variety of industries such as food and beverage, apparel, retail, health and beauty, medical, industrial, technology, financial, and more. Our mission is to help US and foreign-based companies expand their presence in the US by delivering competitive and tailored supply chain solutions. We currently manage 5.6 million square feet of warehouse space, strategically located throughout the US, with facilities in Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL, N. Monroe, NJ; Portland, OR; Houston, TX; and Laredo, TX. 1800 South Wolf Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018, 8am to 5pm plus occasional overtime and a few Saturdays on the year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent preferred.
Five to ten years related experience or equivalent
Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Proven leadership and business acumen skills
Bilingual English and Spanish is a MUST
Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions
Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
A bility to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Union workers or a union shop is a plus

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs production, administrative, and warehouse activities to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner.
Designs, develops, and implements processes that increase yield and/or improve quality for all warehousing.
Performs workflow analysis and develops methods for the production team.
Coordinates with managers and supervisors to establish production and quality control standards.
Coordinates with customer service manager to resolve all operational customer complaints.
Develops, implements, and maintains processes, procedures, and programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the operation.
Implements and maintains DOT/OSHA and company programs and standards.
Ensures that employees and managers have the required safety training and are consistently working in a safe manner; develops and implements safety programs to reduce accidents and injuries.
Coordinates with managers to address organizational needs, equipment utilization and maintenance.
Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
Ensures that operational supplies are on hand and available at all times.
Ensures that warehouse operations comply with federal, state, local, and/or company policies and regulations.
Prepares all required reports and correspondence.
Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

Directly supervises warehouse personnel .
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws .
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .
