About The Position

The Opportunity: As an Operations Manager, you will be the driving force behind a dynamic, multi-trade shop. You’ll lead and inspire teams across diverse specialties—such as maintenance, controls, refrigeration, and plumbing—ensuring seamless collaboration and exceptional results. In this role, you will: Take ownership of projects from start to finish, integrating and coordinating multiple trades throughout the project lifecycle. Lead and develop your team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Manage budgets and expenses with precision, keeping projects on track and within scope. Oversee timelines and deliverables, ensuring every detail meets quality and safety standards. Champion compliance and safety, making sure your team operates at the highest level of responsibility. Additional Information: This is a fulltime (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined by final salary placement. Monthly Salary: $5,486 - $8,400 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrated full-time experience planning, supervising and executing maintenance and construction activities.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards

Nice To Haves

  • WSU experience with knowledge of building systems
  • Experience as a construction project manager.
  • Three years full-time experience as a journey trades worker, at least one year must include lead or supervisor experience.
  • Additional licenses or certification in any trade field.
  • Three (3) years of journey-level experience constructing/maintaining facility improvements related to mechanical systems including one (1) year of experience supervising/leading employees, OR two (2) years of experience as a mechanical systems construction/maintenance project coordinator/estimator and one (1) year of experience supervising/leading employees.
