About The Position

The Operations Manager at Bearings Plus Pearland leads, directs and coordinates the team and their activities in the processing of materials and the manufacture and servicing of fluid film bearings and seals, that can be urgently required by our customers to get their rotating equipment back up and running, better than before.

Requirements

  • Proactive and effective team leadership and management skills
  • A bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of related experience in overseeing precision CNC and manual machining production facilities
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement tools, concepts and implementation methods
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial safety applications and responsibilities
  • Accounting Knowledge: Possess a foundational understanding of accounting principles, including familiarity with ledgers, journal entries, and financial statements to enhance operational performance
  • Understand and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
  • Previous full P&L responsibility
  • Strong computer skills, using ERP/MRP, Production Planning / Scheduling experience a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally, some experience in fluid film bearing repairs

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a culture of excellence in all areas of operations
  • Be responsible for the safety of all employees within the production areas
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility and build quality into all processes, decrease lead/cycle times. Reduce costs and increase on time delivery
  • Lead the Supervisors & Team Leaders to ensure the provision of coaching, guidance and instruction on proper processes within the facility
  • Ensure the development of a strong, motivated, efficient, well trained production team through effective feedback, implementing training programs, recognition and timely performance appraisals
  • Review and prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Take the lead in analyzing bottlenecks and areas of downtime, which could adversely impact customer satisfaction
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including finance, sales, engineering and marketing, to ensure seamless communication and operational integration
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success
  • Collaborate with finance teams to monitor revenue streams, identify trends, and implement strategies for revenue growth and cost reduction
  • Other responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
