About The Position

Manage all activities of yard and warehouse, including personnel and all equipment and responsible for delivery and unloading of materials. Monitors accuracy of deliveries and insists that proper counts and inspection for damages are made for all incoming/outgoing material. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Control expenses of warehouse, delivery, yard and maintenance to maximize efficiency and profitability. Maintain efficient operation and proper maintenance of all material handling and delivery equipment. Direct all shipping, receiving, customer service and inventory of yard and warehouse. Report all shortages, damages and other discrepancies in receiving to General Manager or bookkeeping. Properly manage fleet and inventory. Manage fleet to include accuracy in inspection reports and daily logs. Ensure fleet is clean and presentable. Maintain clean and orderly inventory and ensure inventory accuracy. Ensure preventive maintenance of rolling stock. Properly manage all drivers and yard and warehouse personnel. Manage compliance with security, safety and fire regulations. Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; employee time reporting; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
