About The Position

Building Supply Driver It is the responsibility of the Building Supply Driver to optimize the profitability of Willbee Transit Mix by performing to the highest level of efficiency in the following task categories: delivering material and products efficiently, safely, and productively, ensuring proper care and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment, loading effectively and efficiently, and effectively functioning in any other capacity that ensures prompt, courteous customer service and smooth yard, warehouse and bin operations. This position reports directly to the Building Supply Manager, WTM. Specific tasks required to fulfill these functions are as follows: Follows Directions well. Displays the ability to readily learn the technical aspects of the job. Maintains good housekeeping procedures to reflect a clean, safe and neat yard, warehouses, and personal appearance. Makes any maintenance requirements known in a timely manner. Maintains personal productivity and quality standards. Communicates effectively with the Building Supply Manager, WTM and counter, updating them regularly to guarantee that the sales and customer objectives are met. Remains flexible to restructure schedule as needed. Acts as a representative of Willbee Transit Mix in terms of customer service and sales for building supplies. Fulfills/delivers special orders as required in an accurate and timely manner. Operates front loader, forklifts, and other equipment in a safe, efficient and careful manner. Ensures that batch plant preventive maintenance is properly performed in a timely manner. Ensures that batch plant is consistently stocked in terms of its aggregate needs. Delivers orders for Building Supply and Redi-mix customers in an accurate and timely manner. Contributes to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth. Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties. Demonstrates good judgment in investigating problems. Respects the confidentiality of company information. Maintains cooperative working relationship with supervisor. Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations. Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities. Performs all duties in an independent manner with little supervision. Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned. Shows up to work on time and in the proper gear. Does not abuse or take advantage of time off, always provides proper and advance notice of absence. Maintains a well-groomed appearance. Adheres to all OSHA and company safety regulations. Is aware of and adheres to Willbee Transit Mix’ drug and alcohol policies. Ensures that all inventory is properly recorded, tracked and secured from receipt to delivery. If lacking tasks to complete on this list, help setting and pouring septic tanks. Performs any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual or special duty his supervisor may assign from time to time. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and use of hands and arms to operate yard and field equipment and lift and carry products up to 100 pounds. MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Should possess a valid current driver’s license. Must be able to work under time and budgetary pressures. WORKING CONDITIONS: This person will work a majority of the time transporting materials in/out of the yard and warehouses, which is an open-air environment which can be noisy and dangerous due to the frequent operation of yard equipment and material handling. Outside time may be spent in the open visiting customers at their locations which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, hazardous, noisy and dusty. These locations are visited throughout the year and during all weather conditions.
