About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the on-site operations at a customer location-perform Planning, Driver Manager and Customer Service functions by managing the dedicated fleet and monitoring equipment. It requires effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Logistics Managers need knowledge of DOT Hours of Service, FMCSA regulations and trip planning. Main duties and responsibilities: Develop and maintain high performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching, positive reinforcement, and responsiveness to calls and messages. Prioritize driver retention by ensuring millage expectations are met, payroll is processed correctly, and reported issues are addressed in a timely manner. Match drivers and loads while actively managing expectations, communicating special instructions and departure times to keep service commitment to the customer while maximizing utilization. Proactively manage safety performance through training and safety messages, ensure accident reporting compliance, and use progressive discipline. Oversee compliance by performing regular daily HOS audits, truck inspections, track Medical Examiners/Self-Certification and CDL expirations. Document driver performance including coaching, attendance issues, service issues and positive feedback reports. Learn customer’s in-house processes and systems to facilitate on-site operations and increase efficiency while educating customer on transportation operations. Build and nurture relationships with customer staff and management by being present, trustworthy, transparent. Rapidly respond to customer communications and provide timely notification of delays and regular updates along with daily reports. Collect and enter data on spread sheets to track weight per trailer, delays, RMAs, backhauls, and interplant moves. Oversee and schedule equipment PMs with Penske, regularly inspect leased equipment for damages and cleanliness. Oversee random drug testing for individual location. Learn and utilize all systems and software available to improve fleet management and compliance including, Motive, BOLT, Samba/CSA Enterprise, Asurint, and Tenstreet. Process payroll and HR forms for raises, bonuses, PAFs and other essential forms. Any other assigned tasks pertaining to the daily functions of account. Qualifications:

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service, planning or driver management experience required
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and/or transportation experience required.
  • Must be able to work under stress while remaining professional at all times.
  • Must be proactive and work efficiently independently with no supervision.
  • Must possess good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL helpful.
