POSITION SUMMARY: Direct production, distribution, planning, and control work activities through supervisory and management personnel for Military Products

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, or equivalent in industrial and plant experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the area of operational responsibility.
  • Strong background in building positive employee relations.
  • Organized individual capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously, while paying attention to details.
  • Working knowledge pertaining to the use of computers and related software for managing projects, tracking costs and communication of responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • US citizenship required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead managers to ensure orders/projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet all requirements of both the customer and the company.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of proposals, with emphasis on cost, schedule, and technical / documentation requirements.
  • Responsible for monthly production and financial forecasts and developing annual operating plans.
  • Communicate and coordinate resource requirements for Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, sales, operations, human resources and facilities.
  • Monitor and review percent of completion status and variation orders for all projects and report status to accounting/management as necessary.
  • Plan and execute operations strategies (i.e. production, capabilities, long range capacity & planning, allocating resources to meet strategic alternatives, facility layout, etc.) and review with upper management.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct operations of the plant efficiently and economically while producing quality products.
  • Establish and monitor procedures for cost and waste controls.
  • Create and monitor budget plan for operation of the plant.
  • Promote industrial relations and the establishment of a stable work force.
  • Establish and enforce good safety practices.
  • Actively promote safety and work with HSE personnel to enforce and enact plans to continuously improve.
  • Coordinate the need for personnel, supplies and equipment required for efficient facility operation.
  • Create and monitor production schedules and provide progress reports to review with customers as needed to ensure clear understanding of the status of parts.
  • Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, proactively solve problems in a timely manner, and identify and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management or supervisor.
  • Daily supervision of a team, which may consist of managers, supervisors and/or administrative personnel.
  • Select employees who possess the qualities, technical skills and experience that will enable them to become effective and successful contributors.
  • Maintain a working environment that actively develops and encourages employees to achieve their maximum potential and overcome deficiencies through education and on-the-job training.

  • Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of personnel and differentiate between levels of on-the-job proficiency of subordinates to maintain an efficient and successful staff.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with work procedures and standards.
