Under the general direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager manages multiple operations that control the flow of materials both to and from the location in the most timely, productive and cost effective method possible, including manufacturing, distribution, and warehouse functions. This role is responsible for the overall operations and physical conditions of the location’s facilities and equipment, overseeing daily delivery and warehousing. The manager partners with lead managers to train and develop operations personnel, budgets and controls operating costs to meet profit targets, and plans operations strategies and goals to ensure smooth product flow to customers. The position involves reviewing team performance through operational reports, resolving problems related to processes, costs, orders, maintenance, inventory, equipment, services, and systems, and preparing operations schedules to optimize resource utilization. The Operations Manager also resolves team member issues, fosters cross-departmental communication, takes an active role in employee training and development, analyzes vendor evaluations, monitors services, participates in order decisions, directs safety practices in compliance with regulations (DOT, OSHA, forklift), and plans facility upgrades. Additionally, the role involves active participation in professional trade groups and customer appreciation events.
