About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to support first shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday) with a demonstrated track record of leadership excellence and operational efficiency. You will lead a team of manufacturing operations supervisors. You will establish objectives and guidelines for managing and monitoring cell performance and productivity. You will lead scheduling and sequencing of work, as well as production innovation to optimize production. You will also lead projects and resolve production problems, develop operating plans, and recommend investments to improve the organization's production capabilities. As the leader, you will be responsible for alignment of the Engines sensors (Temp, Speed, Flow) and Space lean transformation and recovery plans. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure all quality related items for the unit or shift are complete and documented so that established quality standards are met.
  • Lead cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the unit or shift to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Lead scheduling for the unit or shift to ensure that operations run according to established production schedules.
  • Lead the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for the unit or shift to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
  • Drive materials and logistics problem resolution for the unit or shift to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Establish performance objectives and leads cell performance and productivity.
  • Leads production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for the unit or shift to enhance production capabilities for assigned Product Lines.
  • Partner with Product Management team to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of service.
