About The Position

Job Description Summary Job Description Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Direct the daily work activities of hourly GE employees in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all site utilities infrastructure, steam boiler and water treatment systems, including site waste-water treatment plant (WWTP), and all ancillary equipment associated with the site wide distribution of electric, steam, water, natural gas, and air utilities. Interface and coordinate with contractors performing maintenance on all utilities systems when required. Provide supervision and coordination of all hazardous waste (HW) activities on site. Support production needs & requests as required for fulfillment. Perform administrative duties in a timely manner including time and attendance, workforce training requirements, safety meetings, self audits, Injury & Illness reporting, work order and safety work order backlog control, and overtime management. Schedule and validate all preventive maintenance by using the MAXIMO maintenance and work order system. Develop project specific scopes of work, cost estimates, schedule, and coordinate projects associated with the utilities distribution systems, WWTP, & HW Operations. Develop and maintain a positive and respectful work climate with all employees. Communicate to employees all business goals and objectives. Motivate and drive productivity among the work force using sound human relation skills. Requirements

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, or Plant Utilities systems.
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience in a utilities support or facilities organization.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer Skills. Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Ability to effectively lead others in a unionized environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a two year AAS or four-year BS college degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology or similar.
  • Have a minimum of three years electrical or mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation experience.
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience in facilities, utilities, or a WWTP/HW operation & maintenance organization.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of the MAXIMO work order system, GE purchasing systems, Oracle R12, ARIBA, GE Accounts Payable system (AP), invoice resolution, & Kronos.
  • Possess effective communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the workforce.
