About The Position

Spire's Federal Sales team runs on information and right now that information lives in too many places, in too many formats, in varying states of accuracy. This role is designed for a student eager to learn the mechanics of operational efficiency. You’ll be mentored on how to audit, clean, and structure data for maximum impact. You won't just be organizing files; you’ll be learning how to build a 'Single Source of Truth' a vital skill for any future career in data analytics, consulting or business leadership. The Work Learning & Implementing Proper Data Hygiene Audit existing Salesforce records for completeness, accuracy, and duplication across accounts, contacts, and opportunities Standardize naming conventions, account ownership, and opportunity stages in coordination with sales leadership Identify and remediate stale or orphaned records contacts with no account, opportunities with no activity Build and document a data entry standard so hygiene is maintained after the internship ends Process Organization Audit current SharePoint structure: identify redundant folders, outdated files, and content with no clear owner Propose and implement a clean folder taxonomy for the Federal Sales team organized by capability area, customer segment, and content type Migrate and tag existing content (capability statements, past performance, briefs, call decks) into the new structure Establish a naming convention and file ownership model so the library stays clean going forward Dashboard Structuring Build a Federal Sales performance dashboard in Power BI or Salesforce Reports surfacing: team activity metrics, pipeline health, revenue forecasting view, and content/asset library Dashboard must be decision-ready leadership opens it and knows exactly where the team stands Coordinate with sales leadership to confirm the right metrics before building

Requirements

  • Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in MIS, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
  • Ability to work approximately 40 hours for the duration of the 8-week program
  • Experience with SharePoint and Excel required, Power BI or Salesforce a strong plus
  • Detail-oriented; able to work through large volumes of unstructured data without losing focus
  • Communicates proactively when blocked

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with CRM data cleanup, Salesforce administration, or SharePoint management
  • Power BI or dashboard-building experience from coursework or a prior role
  • Familiarity with federal government or B2B sales environments
  • Evidence of building or owning a system
