About The Position

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity to join us on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This project offers potential Project Team members a valuable opportunity to broaden their professional experience and advance their careers throughout its duration. The CEPP plays a vital role in Everglades restoration, aiming to enhance ecosystem health, improve water storage, and increase resilience to climate change. Safety is our TOP priority! This position will monitor, analyze, and optimize GPS-tracked construction equipment across active job sites. This role is critical in maximizing production, improving equipment efficiency, and supporting field operations through real-time insights and performance reporting.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in construction, fleet management, equipment operations, or related field
  • Strong understanding of heavy construction equipment and jobsite operations
  • Experience with GPS tracking systems, telematics, or fleet management software preferred
  • Ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable operational insights
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance practices and utilization benchmarks
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis), reporting tools (Power BI), HCSS, Primavera P6, and telematics platforms such as CAT VisionLink or Komatsu Smart Construction; must have experience with Trimble Earthworks and Topcon systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with field and office teams
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple job sites simultaneously
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and professionalism
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor GPS tracking systems to evaluate real-time and historical equipment utilization, production output, and idle time
  • Analyze performance data for heavy equipment such as articulated haul trucks, dozers, excavators, loaders, motor graders, and compactors
  • Identify underutilization, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve fleet productivity across job sites
  • Partner with field supervisors and project managers to optimize equipment deployment and usage
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment performance, utilization rates, and production metrics
  • Track and report key KPIs including run time, idle time, fuel usage, and production output
  • Support preventive maintenance planning by identifying usage trends and potential mechanical concerns
  • Communicate actionable insights to operations and leadership to drive efficiency and cost savings
  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to equipment monitoring and operational standards
  • Assist in implementing best practices for fleet management, tracking systems, and reporting tools
  • Maintain accurate data records and continuously improve reporting processes
