About The Position

Ford is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Operations Supervisor to lead the Engine Laboratories (ELD). This critical leadership role is responsible for the operational execution of engine durability, development, powertrain calibration, and engine mapping for North American and global programs. You will oversee an operational footprint across ELD, RIC, and GTL (100+ test sites), managing a complex budget of $80M+ and leading a diverse team of Ford and purchased service personnel.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or Technical Discipline or a related field
  • 7+ years progressive responsibilities in laboratory testing or high-volume industrial environment.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Proven ability to utilize complex data sets and operational metrics to drive business decisions, challenge the status quo, and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Strategic Influence: Ability to lead a large, cross-functional staff and build partnerships with key suppliers to achieve business-critical deliverables.
  • Process Discipline: A track record of ensuring accountability and process rigor within a high-pressure, technical environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Proven experience in project management and delivering facility sustainment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Directly lead a large-scale team (150+ Ford and Purchased Service employees) overseeing test site operations, instrumentation, machine shops, engine prep, and fuel house logistics.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage an annual operations budget of $80M+, ensuring lean operations, accurate forecasting, and optimized resource allocation.
  • Strategic Scheduling: Orchestrate complex test scheduling to meet aggressive global program milestones, balancing priority and facility capacity.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business decisions, utilizing data-driven insights to improve lab efficiency.
  • Supplier Management: Act as the primary liaison and strategic partner for purchased service companies, ensuring high-performance standards and accountability.
  • Regulatory & Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate regulatory requirements, fostering a "Safety First" culture.
