About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is looking for an Operational Controller who is a hands-on financial leader responsible for overseeing and executing all financial activities, including the month-end close, and office administration within a dynamic service organization. This role actively supports operations and process improvement, manages offic e operations and administrative staff, and ensures that both financial and operational functions are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals.

Requirements

  • A construction, distribution, or manufacturing environment is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced credentials preferred.
  • Significant experience in accounting/financial management in a service-focused organization, with a strong track record in similar roles.
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, and internal controls in a small to mid-sized business .
  • Experience managing accounting staff and broader office/business operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems, drive process improvements, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • MUST be team-oriented, service-driven, and people-focused.
  • This is an on-site, hands-on position requiring daily presence in the office and interaction with staff and operational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and complete the full month-end financial close process, including general ledger reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and timely communication with executive management.
  • Oversee all accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and expense management.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Manage budgeting, revenue and expense forecasting, and business planning processes.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and all regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance, office, and administrative teams; oversee hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, systems, and operational workflows.
  • Support operational functions and help resolve day-to-day issues impacting office, staff, and business processes.
  • Ensure compliance standards for all accounting and business operations as relevant.
  • Serve as an audit liaison; coordinate audit activities, implement findings, and maintain documentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to further office efficiency and operational excellence.
