About The Position

You will be responsible for all daily and monthly activities of the LandBridge operational accounting team. You will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of all revenue streams as well as capital and operating expenditures to ensure accuracy of financial and operational reports and financial statements of multiple companies. You will support management and operations with analysis and financial information by partnering with field personnel to leverage this information and improve operational efficiencies and profitability. You will be responsible for ensuring processes and controls are in place in order to provide timely and accurate financial information. Additionally, you will assist with interim and annual processes including internal and external audits, joint venture audits, and public filings. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of accounting information for all statistics, revenue, royalty, capital expenditures and operating expenditures
  • General understanding of revenue lease accounting under ASC 842 and revenue recognition under ASC 606 to ensure appropriate reporting of revenue
  • Ability to understand and summarize agreements for technical accounting personnel when needed to leverage accounting treatment expertise
  • Responsible for preparation and presentation of monthly analytics to broader accounting team as it relates to statistics, revenue, royalty, capital expenditures and operating expenditures
  • Support the process of providing quarterly MD&A analytics to external auditors as it relates to revenue, royalty, capital expenditures and operating expenditures
  • Support the process of updating the quarterly and annual Results of Operations in public filings as it relates to revenue, royalty, capital expenditures and operating expenditures
  • Review and approval of applicable monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the daily and month end close activities of the LandBridge team
  • Ability to understand and manage deliverables related to various monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines
  • Perform critical analysis, develop refined methodologies and improved accounting practices to ensure accuracy of accruals and month end results
  • Responsible for analyzing actual revenue and expenditures as inputs to Finance models for periodic budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Lead or participate in monthly or quarterly meetings with field personnel as it relates to field financial information, operational reporting and processes that impact financial data
  • Lead discussions with Operations and Finance to understand budget to actual variances as well as month over month variances
  • Responsible for identification and execution of opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and controls
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by various functional departments within the company (i.e., accounting, finance, operations, legal, etc.)
  • Ensure processes and controls (both corporate and field level) are appropriate and adhered to in order to provide assurance to management that financials are timely, accurate, complete, and reliable
  • Participate in monthly capital expenditure reviews with field operations to ensure accuracy of coding and improve future efficiency
  • Ensure accounting master data is designed appropriately and set up timely to enable operational reporting
  • Assist in acquisition or divestment due diligence activities including acquisition integration
  • Responsible for calculating oil and gas depletion and migrating reserves as needed
  • Be the cross-functional liaison between field operations and other functional support areas as needed
  • Work in office to manage team and deadlines as needed
  • Participate in hiring and training process for team
  • Provide support accounts payable team for coding as needed
