About The Position

The Operations Associate is a bargaining represented position and responsible for reading and interpreting test procedures and electronic schematics to perform testing of circuit card assemblies, module assemblies, cables, and integrated systems. Interpret test results to ensure product performance integrity, as well as troubleshoot digital, analog, and RF electronics to component level as required. Perform mechanical and / or electrical and electronic assembly with minimal supervision by reading and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, processes, and flows to ensure proper assembly and perform any required verification/validation of mechanical assembly.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Minimum of 2 years formal electronic technology training
  • In lieu of formal training, 4 or more years of experience assembling or testing electronics components.
  • Ability to interpret complex assembly drawings, electrical diagrams, and process flows/standards.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electronic circuits to the component level, using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, frequency generators, logic analyzers, spectrum and network analyzers.
  • Able to obtain IPC-610, IPC620, and J Standard 001 certifications on the first try or within two attempts.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPC-610 and/or J Standard 001.
  • Ability to read and understand BOMs (Bills of Materials), Parts Lists, and other technical documentation relevant to the testing process.
  • Experience with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and precision in work.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic components and their functions.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot testing issues.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC J-STD-001 certification or similar industry-standard soldering certifications.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in a high-tech electronics environment.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Maintains an active Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency in identifying defects such as solder bridges, insufficient solder, missing components, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly of complex mechanical systems/products.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies & systems.
  • Extensive experience in electronic assembly, hand soldering and self-inspection.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPC-610 and/or J Standard 001.
  • Record and report production data into SAP.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve assembly/test processes.
  • Follow all safety and quality control procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality and reduce production costs.
