About The Position

We are excited to invite a compassionate and motivated Operations Associate Assistant to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for a dedicated individual to support training, program coordination, and daily safety operations across our family shelters. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS: Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to travel throughout the five boroughs of NYC and work from various locations as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, upto20 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in facilitating training/workshops for staff and families across all sites.
  • Support the design, development, preparation, and purchases of training materials.
  • Assist with organization and coordination of training sessions.
  • Manage calendars and coordinate scheduling for meetings and trainings.
  • Serve as a liaison with site point persons to coordinate training activities.
  • Maintain and track invitation and RSVP lists for events.
  • Visit sites to address departmental requests and provide support as needed.
  • Conduct outreach events at all the sites to promote family and staff participation.
  • Perform data entry and maintain departmental reports.
  • Assist with IT-related purchases.
  • Help manage IT storage rooms at all sites.
  • Assist with inventory management at all sites.
  • Assist with safety staff licensing requirements.
  • Ensure the Safety Department is incompliance with HFH and DHS requirements.
  • Visit sites to address departmental needs and provide support as needed.
