Apply today and be a part of a team that values teamwork, innovation, diversity, and excellence.  This Operations Assistant, Tradeshows, Fairs and Exhibitions, is responsible for selling, coordinating, executing and billing time sensitive logistics for US and Canadian exhibitors participating in tradeshows, fairs and exhibitions around the world. Location: Los Angeles (open to discuss other Rock-It Cargo home offices) with travel to trade shows both domestically and internationally as needed. 

Requirements

  • Familiarity and experience with typical sales and marketings processes including prospecting, lead generation and data mining.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Slack, Outlook, etc.  High volume data entry is required.
  • Process-oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent customer service & client relationship management skills.
  • Pro-active and aggressive communications skills via phone and e-mail with both international and domestic agents, exhibitors and other participants in tradeshows, fairs and exhibitions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior telemarketing or retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Data mining for exhibitor and event information (foreign and domestic) for trade shows, exhibitions and events (foreign and domestic).
  • Sorting of exhibitor lists when provided for shows where we have recommended or official status or shows that we are targeting.
  • Sending exhibitor information to our foreign agents and offices so that they can sell our services on domestic shows.  Subsequently following up on those leads.
  • Direct email marketing to foreign exhibitors attending USA shows to encourage them to use the services of Rock-it Cargo. Also calling Canadian and select US exhibitors to gauge their interest in our services.
  • Using the prior year’s or related show results to follow-up with those customers about using our services again for the next edition of that event or any other events that the customer participates in.
  • Email and phone calls to USA and Canadian exhibitors attending shows outside of the USA to generate quote requests that would be handled by Operations personnel.
  • Assisting the Director of Fairs & Exhibitions with staying on top of show organizers to confirm appointments and receipt of exhibitor lists etc.
  • In conjunction with the marketing team, overseeing the preparation show guidelines / instructions so that they can be sent to agents, offices and show organizers
  • Keeping track of agent / office feedback in regards to exhibitor lists sent and providing that information to operations.
  • Compiling, reaching out to and following up on contacts and leads for industry events including but not limited to IELA, IAEE, ExhibitorLive and any other industry events we participate in.
  • Working closely with the Director of F & E to ensure we are maximizing our opportunities.
  • Any other work tasks as directed or needed
