About The Position

The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Chief is responsible for overseeing the daily facilities maintenance operations under the BOS contract at Al Udeid Air Base. This role ensures that all base facilities are safe, functional, and properly maintained by effectively managing multi-trade maintenance teams, which include electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire alarm systems. The O&M Chief's primary focus is on service delivery, supervising the workforce, and maintaining facility readiness within a demanding operational environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8–12 years of experience in facilities maintenance
  • At least 3–5 years of supervisory experience managing maintenance teams
  • Practical knowledge of building systems and general facility upkeep
  • Experience with work order systems or CMMS
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience on BOS or similar government service contracts
  • Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
  • Experience working in overseas or remote environments

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily facilities maintenance activities across all trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, carpentry, and general maintenance)
  • Ensure timely completion of service calls, preventive maintenance, and repair work orders
  • Manage and support trade supervisors and technicians, ensuring proper staffing, scheduling, and task execution
  • Monitor workload, prioritize maintenance tasks, and adjust resources to meet mission needs
  • Serve as the primary interface with government personnel for routine maintenance coordination and issue resolution
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure quality of work
  • Track and report work order status, backlog, and overall maintenance performance
  • Support planning and execution of minor repairs and facility improvements
  • Ensure tools, materials, and parts are available to support maintenance operations
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce all safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using CMMS or similar systems
