About The Position

Horace Mann is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Analyst to support continuous improvement and operational excellence across our Life & Retirement business units. In this role, you will evaluate processes, perform quality reviews, and provide insights that drive efficiency, accuracy, and improved business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operational workflows, data analysis, and process interdependencies, with the ability to partner across teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or GED required.
  • Strong knowledge of Life & Retirement processes, including the lifecycle of a policy or contract.
  • Working knowledge of processing systems and operational workflows.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop insights and recommendations based on research and analysis of operational workflows.
  • Identify relationships between business processes and organizational objectives to support strategic alignment.
  • Perform monthly quality review checks to assess performance and identify trends.
  • Identify root causes of performance issues and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain daily/monthly/quarterly/annual controls to ensure compliance, consistency and accuracy across business processes.
  • Accurately capture and integrate data from multiple sources into daily workflows.
  • Analyze data to support business decisions and operational improvements.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and reporting processes.
  • Work directly with business unit managers and frontline operations teams to resolve process issues and implement solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workflow efficiency and service delivery.
  • Provide ongoing support and insights to enhance operational performance and customer outcomes.
