About The Position

The Operational Strategy team works across the enterprise to establish investment and partnership strategies to meet customer demand, improve company performance, and introduce new technologies into the shipyard. In this position, you will lead operational strategy development to increase shipbuilding throughput, analyze constraints and opportunities, identify solutions, both internal and through partnerships, and lead stakeholders to execute the strategy. You will have the responsibility of managing a high-functioning team of Strategy Leads and Operations Analysts to execute the Operational Strategy Mission, which includes: Leading cross-functional teams to develop investment strategies across operations, supply chain, workforce, and infrastructure Conducting diagnostic analyses to identify constraints and opportunities Identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to streamline operations Managing execution of initiatives by partnering with stakeholders across the company Leading internal teams and coordinating closely with initiative owners to develop and execute value creation plans, roadmaps and business cases Preparing strategy documents for senior internal and external stakeholders The position will involve regular interface with senior leaders and all functional areas of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master’s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in defense, shipbuilding, operations, manufacturing, and/or supply chain
  • Prior experience in management consulting or internal consulting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
  • Strong analytical ability
